The information, the statistics, are clear. Our children are already being given the opportunity to join other groups. Groups that already have a base in their communities. Who are they? They're called gangs. They are ready to teach our kids about drugs, guns, violence, and even prostitution. They'll even teach these kids, our kids, How to talk the language, and dress the part. These kids will learn compromise, not homework. They'll learn how to disrespect their parents and teachers, not to immulate them. You've got to ask yourself, how many of those kids really ad a chance to find something better? Was there a program that could have helped them? Surely the many government agencies that are around could have stepped in to help them before they got into trouble. In short they'll be lost unless we can implement a plan to help them... We've got a plan...

The San Antonio Junior Golf Foundation had a Vision 6 years ago. (The envision of the San Antonio Junior Golf Foundation centers around the children and community. We envision the SAJGF to be a source for continuing education, mentoring programs and scholarships for college in golf. The SAJGF will provide an environment where a Junior golfer, male or female ages 5-19 can enjoy golf and progress at his/her own rate/level from the beginner to a proficient level. We also in vision operating from our own facility within the community, which would provide access for all children golfers, teaching, practice, and play, as well as serve as permanent headquarters for our staff.) With the help and support from District 2 Councilwoman Shelia McNeal, Fighting Back, and Genesis (The Wheatley Heights Sports Complex) SAJGF's vision will be a reality soon.

All the SAJGF ask from the kids is Donnt forget where you got your start and give back to the communityy. A good example of that iss Ms Christi Cano.. Ms Cano is on the LPGA Tour and still makes time to give back to the community, by helping and supporting the SAJGFFs golf program. The SAJGF offer Jr golfers the opportunity to excel. The advanced Jr. Golfers help with the instructions and teaching with the beginners golfers. With this, it teaches the Jr. golfers, how to give back, courtesy, respect, responsibility, confidence, perseverance, honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship.

The San Antonio Junior Golf Foundation is in the process of starting The San Antonio Junior Golf Learning Academy. At the academy the program would offer national life skills, promote positive self esteem, good sportsmanship, help with homework, school projects, chipping, putting, and many other areas in life. The kids will be taught the principles of entrepreneurship. Cooking classes, computer repair, computer networking, golf club re-gripping, repair, and how to write a business plan. The academy would be the home for the Tiger Woods Start Something Program. Our mission is to make a difference in the community by offering our kids the tools, education, mentoring and the opportunity to succeed in Life Through The Game of Golf.
